This article is for the Homepass new app. If you are still using the Homepass Legacy app, see the Homepass Legacy app articles instead.
This article shows you how to check a contact in at a place in the Homepass new app, including creating a new contact on the spot, adding a note and confirming the check-in with the contact.
Important points
Check-in starts from the place. Open the place, then tap the blue check-in icon in the bottom right.
Search finds existing contacts as you type. If nobody matches, tap Create contact.
The final step shows the contact a Policy collection notice. Hand them the device so they can read it and confirm. It is your responsibility to ensure the contact has read and accepted the Policy collection notice on your device.
Tapping Cancel before confirming means the contact is not checked in.
Simplified Process
Existing contact: Places -> open the place -> blue check-in icon -> type the name -> tap the contact -> Check-in -> hand over the device -> Confirm & check-in
New contact: Places -> open the place -> blue check-in icon -> type the name -> Create contact -> fill in the details -> Save & continue -> Check-in -> hand over the device -> Confirm & check-in
In-depth Steps
1. Start a check-in
Tap Places and open the place.
Tap the blue check-in icon in the bottom right. The check-in screen shows the place at the top and Search contacts below it.
2. Find or create the contact
Start typing the contact's name. Matching contacts appear under Suggested. Tap the right one.
If No contacts found appears, tap Create contact.
On Contact info, enter Full name, Email and Mobile. Phone 2, Home address and Partner's name are optional. Tick Do not contact if the person asks not to be contacted.
Tap Save & continue.
When you type in Home address, the app suggests matching addresses. Tap one, or tap Use to keep what you typed.
3. Add a note or send a brochure
The contact's details appear at the top. Tap View to open their profile.
Under Add note / send brochure, type a note if you want one. Tick Note visible to vendor only if the vendor should see it.
Sending the brochure is optional. Tick Send brochure to contact only if you want to send them the place's brochure documents.
Tap Check-in.
4. Confirm with the contact
The screen says Turn device to guest for confirmation. Hand the device to the contact.
The contact reads the Policy collection notice and taps Confirm & check-in.
If they tap Cancel, the app asks them to confirm. Close goes back to the notice; Cancel ends the check-in and the contact is not checked in.
